INTRODUCTION This chapter provides the formulae and examples for calculating crude and adjusted point estimates and confidence intervals for: risk ratios and differences; odds ratios; incidence rate ratios and differences; and etiologic and prevented fractions. The tests for interaction are also presented. First, the estimates from a single 2x2 table (“count” data) are presented followed by estimates adjusted or summarized across stratified data.
